The Media Archaeology Lab (MAL) residency program has attracted researchers, artists, musicians, and writers from the UK, Sweden, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and across the US.

Residencies provide full access to the lab and its collection for as long as is necessary for project completion. In addition to working in the lab, MAL residents present a talk or produce a small publication, performance, or exhibition that features the residency project and its results.

Please note: Residencies are rarely fully funded, but limited funding is available.

To apply for a 2019 residency, complete our residency application form*: Current deadline to apply: July 31, 2018.

*You will be asked to provide URLs to a CV and website/work samples. If you prefer to provide these as attachments, or if you have any questions, please contact our curator, Maya Livio.

Our 2018 residents are listed here.

We are in the process of revamping our website and residency documentation pages. You’re welcome to browse some of our more recent residencies and older residencies, but please pardon our dust.
