Title: S ACE P
I retyped Clark Coolidge’s book SPACE using an IBM Selectric Composer which, (based on the font and publication date) I believe to be the machine originally used to type/typeset the book. I applyed a system of constraint to the retyping process structured by the keyboard itself. Each poem is typed twice, once using only the letters/keys that belong to the left hand — leaving spaces where right hand letters would be — and vice versa on the right. The result is a very visual picture of the underlying structure of sound, letter repetition, and rhyme.
Duration: Finishing in April 2013 (tentative)
Equipment: IBM Selectric Composer and Journal Roman font balls (currently in the process of acquiring both).
